A is for Animals

Finallt starting this blogging challenge, and supposed to be writing about pets I used to have, pets I do have, and pets I want to have.  Animals. :)
When I was born my parents were... "dorm parents" per say.  They babysat the college kids with their dog, Rufus.  Rufus got over-the-top protective when I was born, and we've never had a dog since.  I did have a goldfish for about a week and a half when I was little... I harbored anger over his death for years.
We have no pets at my house.  Depressing, I know.  My mom always said that she had enough training to do with all of us kids, so she didn't need any other animals running around.  For soem reason she never believed us when we said we would take care of everything.
Horses are my favorite.  I have dreamed of owning a horse since I was a little girl.  Obsessed much?  Maybe.  I can't wait to make that dream become a reality.  For now, I settle for His Ranch.  They will certainly do, and so will these pictures from my beloved Pinterest.

I hope.

I hope for:
   unwavering courage
    life for the unborn
     Holy Spirit fire
    whole families
   a horse
    more of Him each day
     revival in my school
      like-minded friends
healing for my baby cousin Josiah
    King Jesus' return
   victory for our football team
    a man to love me
realization of value, worth, and beauty
      unconditional love
       stylish modesty
      overwhelming peace
     prophecy and miracles
    unity
   empty notebooks to fill
    soft hearts
     empathy
      purity
       snow days
        passion
       renewal.
I hope for more hope.

and this is why I work for free

HIS Ranch is...
  • loving God, loving horses, and loving people (not necessarily, but quite possibly, in that order)
  • passing on your passion
  • finding random bugs on yourself and others
  • "Well, it's in God's hands." ... "Ain't that the truth!"
  • people who smile because they really are really happy (not just polite)
  • that barn smell
  • work & play - and all at the same time!
  • discovering that horses... well, they're just like us
  • "The best day ever!!"
  • pony ride after pony ride after pony ride...
  • wet, slobbery puppy kisses
  • willing hearts and working hands
  • the contented sigh when you take your boots off
  • not his ranch, but His ranch
  • remembering all those names - or at least attempting
  • a playful whinny and a friendly nuzzle
  • wearing jeans when it's 101.7 degrees
  • elated smiles
  • learning more from a horse than any human could ever teach you
  • being paid in popsicles
  • the soft, smooth horse's hair you just brushed
  • riding your favorite
  • loving. learning. empowering.
